Important Upcoming Change for Drinking
Drinking and eating food to get back health and mana has been an integral part of the game ever since it was first developed. Blizzard has recently announced a change in the mechanic, however, that is of concern to many of us who drink water on a regular basis:
“This is an intentional change to how drinking works. The amount of mana regenerated now ramps up, so you will see little or no mana regen the first few seconds and then it will increase as the duration continues.
It appears this change did not make it into these patch notes, I’ll see about getting it added to future notes.”
What this means for you is that you’ll need to sit for longer to get your mana back, resulting (in theory) in a longer downtime. Presumably this was done to combat casters (druids) drinking within the arena running away and drinking once out of combat to gain a precious few moments of mana regen.
The implications of this for the PvE side of things is definitely something to keep an eye on. personally, I think a better solution would have this change only apply to the arenas themselves (if of course that’s the primary reason for the change). This would allow casters and others to gain their mana back as usual.
After all, who would ever ask for more downtime?
